Maintenance - Diesel Technician lvl1 Details:
Temp-to-Hire position- $
17.00 to $ 25.00 / hour Full Time work availableFirst Shift ( Monday throughFriday from 08:00am to05:00pm )
The Level 1 Diesel Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a fleet of diesel-powered vehicles. Under the supervision of experienced technicians this position is responsible for performing basic maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and trailers.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
- Conduct inspections to identify and diagnose minor mechanical issues according to (DOT) Standards.
- Assist senior technicians in making necessary repairs and adjustments.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Read precision instruments such as voltmeters, digital multimeters, calibrators and other electronic diagnostic tools.
- Communicate with drivers, dispatchers and management to determine which repairs are necessary, determine priority and provide estimated time of completion.
- Apply knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA rules and regulations.
Maintenance - Diesel Technician lvl1 Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines and automotive systems
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and understand technical service manuals
- Ability to operate and interpret industry standard diagnostic software for heavy duty truck tractors Preferred:
- Vocational or Technical training in diesel mechanics, welding, or a related field
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
- Pre-employment drug screen (Excluding THC) is required as a condition of employment
